DescriptionWincanton are offering the opportunity for Class 1 (C+E) Night Driver to join a team in Portbury, Bristol.
Driving a curtain side articulated vehicle trunking to Howden primary sites to collect trailers for the follow days deliveries. The driver will ensure the loads are secured correctly and that a thorough pre & post trip check is complete to avoid delays to the onward deliveries.
- Basic Salary - £44,864.65 per annum
- Monday – Friday
- 16:00-18:00 start time
- 45 hours contract per week
- Overtime paid after 45 hours worked
- Expected shift length 9-12 hours per day
- Multiple different trunking points
- Trailer shunts between sites
How will you contribute?
- You will be responsible for the accurate and timely movement of our customers’ trailers between manufacturing and delivery depots,
- Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately with attention to detail.
- Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements (opt out available).
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident and damage reporting.
- To ensure contractual KPI’s over delivery of product is undertaken in both a legally compliant and health and safety manner.
- Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.
- Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day
What will you bring?
- Must have valid in date Class C+E licence
- Must have valid in date CPC
- Must hold Digital tachograph card
- Must not have more than 6 points on licence
- Ideally have minimum 6 months driving experience, however newly qualified drivers will be considered
- Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
- Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
- Must be fully flexible on working hours
- Must have a good geographical knowledge
- Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering 1st class customer service
- Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
