Opportunity for a Minibus Driver with CSCS Card (Sizewell C) working with Ballycommon on the Sizewell C Project,


Main Duties:

Ā 

  • Safe Transport of Operatives: Drive site operatives to and from designated pickup points, compounds, and site locations in a timely and safe manner.
  • Route Management: Follow planned pickup and drop-off schedules, adapting to site access conditions and traffic where necessary.
  • Vehicle Safety Checks: Carry out daily pre-use inspections on the minibus, including tyres, lights, brakes, mirrors, and fluid levels. Report any faults immediately to site management or fleet supervisor.
  • Passenger Safety: Ensure all passengers are seated and wearing seatbelts. Enforce safe conduct and compliance with site transport rules during transit.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate journey logs, fuel use records, and any incidents or delays, reporting them promptly to supervisors.
  • Cleanliness & Maintenance: Keep the minibus clean, tidy, and roadworthy, including regular interior sanitising where required.
  • Compliance with Driving Regulations: Follow all relevant UK road laws and Highway Code standards when operating on public roads.
  • Support Site Operations (if required): Assist with basic on-site labouring or compound duties when not driving, depending on site needs and contract.
  • Adherence to Site Safety Procedures: Comply with all site-specific safety policies, including vehicle movement rules, PPE requirements, and attendance at toolbox talks or briefings.


Qualifications & Certifications (Minibus Driver)

Ā 

  • Valid UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement. Required to legally operate a minibus carrying up to 16 passengers
  • D1 must be on the licence either through standard entitlement (pre-1997) or by formal testing
  • CSCS Card
  • Minimum requirement: CSCS Green Labourer Card for site access
  • Preferred: CSCS cards for additional roles if the driver also undertakes labouring or support duties
  • CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Test
  • Must have been passed within the last 2 years for CSCS card to be valid
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Valid UK Passport or Birth Certificate


Desirable Training & Tickets (Site Specific):

  • First Aid at Work
  • Manual Handling Awareness
  • Banksman / Vehicle Marshalling (if reversing into compounds or busy areas)
  • Site Inductions or LAPEC/BPSS (for secure or high-profile projects)
  • Proven experience operating a minibus with D1 entitlement, safely transporting site operatives, staff, or passengers between designated pick-up points, compounds, and active construction or infrastructure sites.
  • Familiar with managing daily transport schedules, adapting routes as needed due to site access, road closures, or changing shift patterns.
  • Confident in conducting daily vehicle inspections and logging any maintenance issues or defects in line with fleet and site requirements.
  • Experience working in live construction, utilities, or infrastructure environments, with a strong understanding of site access protocols and vehicle movement safety zones.
  • Skilled in enforcing passenger safety, including seatbelt use and behaviour management during transit.
  • Maintained accurate journey logs, fuel records, and incident reporting in line with operational procedures.
  • Familiar with CPC compliance (where applicable), including rest periods, driving hour regulations, and periodic training requirements.
  • Able to work collaboratively with site management, security, and logistics teams to support smooth daily operations.
  • Experience assisting with compound or light labouring duties when not driving, such as maintaining site cleanliness or supporting deliveries (if part of the role).
  • Previous experience on high-profile or secure sites (e.g., Sizewell C, HS2, or MOD contracts) is highly desirable.
