What is the role?

You’ll be responsible for providing transport for the Academy Scholars, Schoolboys & staff to and from training, match venues and other required destinations in a safe and lawful manner, fully compliant with the Highway Code and other regulations applying to passenger and minibus transport.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for both individual health & safety and that of those who you are responsible for along with the safe collection and return of the players on your bus as well as being the first point of call for any noticeable changes in the players behaviour. All incidents should be reported too and dealt with by the Academy Safeguarding and Player Care teams.

You will work closely with the Academy Logistics Manager with regards to any changes to the daily and weekly schedule.

The role will involved both midweek and weekend work due to training schedules and Academy match days.

You will need to be flexible for this role as schedules may change at relatively short notice due to match timetables.

Is this you?

If you have previous driving experience, good awareness of the Highway Code and other regulations applying to both passenger and minibus transport and are  comfortable communicating to various people such as players, management staff and other key stakeholders this role could be for you:

Essential Experience:

  • Previous driving experience

Essential Qualifications (including certifications):

  • PCV (passenger carrying vehicle) entitlement (D or D1)
  • Hold a clean, valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional knowledge of the local area
  • Flexible approach to work and changing schedules
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good level of IT skills (mobile apps used regularly)
